I’m a ghostwriter, fiction writer, and editor living in Nashville, TN. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in fiction from Sewanee, University of the South and I’m an assistant editor at the Northwest Review literary journal.

I have a varied professional background –– ranging from teaching French to running a small music school to working in a more corporate environment –– which culminates beautifully in my ability to write from different professional points of view. My many personal interests (music, travel, film, language learning, etymology, human anatomy and physiology, biodiversity––the list goes on!) all inform my ability to craft lush detail around anyone’s story. As a ghostwriter I quickly carved out a niche as an excellent writer of memoirs and science knowledge-share books.

I offer my freelance services as an individual and through hybrid publishing companies, including Kevin Anderson & Associates, Amplify Publishing, and Ballast Books. I am a member of the Gotham Ghostwriters network, the Association of Ghostwriters, and am a Media Alchemy Guild committee member. I offer editing services and teach classes for The Porch Writing Collective in Nashville. I am represented by agent Whitney Gossett at GhostyPro.

Beyond my professional writing, I am dedicated to my own personal projects. The one thing that makes a day feel successful to me is when I’ve had time to work on my own writing. Like many writers, I get up early to make sure I can squeeze in a bit of dedicated time to my own craft. I have directed a writing group called The Paper State Writing Club for more than nine years, and have found their support and friendship to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Outside of writing, I teach piano lessons to children and teach yoga. I am active in the trap/neuter/return community and foster cats through Metro Animal Control. I also serve on the board of the Alliance Française de Nashville.

Services

Ghostwriting

For the person who doesn’t want to put pen to paper. I will help you organize and structure your book first from a birds-eye view. Then, through a series of interviews, you will deliver the content. Then we revise it together until you’re happy with it.

Book Coaching

For the person who does want to write their own book, but needs guidance. This is a mixture of ghostwriting and editing. We will organize and structure your book together. Then you will write it and I will edit it. We’ll have calls along the way to check on your progress.

Editing

Developmental

  • Developmental editing focuses on the big picture of a piece. Character, plot, time, etc. I like to do two passes. Starting at $.04/word. I can only give a final quote after seeing a sample of the project.

Line

  • Line editing follows developmental editing and focuses on the sentences themselves. Starting at $.05/word. I can only give a final quote after seeing a sample of the project.

Long-Form Content

If it’s long enough to require punctuation (blogs, emails, articles, website copy, etc.) I can write it! However, if you are very brand-oriented, I am likely not a fit. I’m very interested in the audience, not the branding.

I am only considering retainer clients at this time.
